I am with you always

Ok, I did not create this beautiful cross made from little pieces of coloured paper, but I just had to include it in this blog and share this awesome testimony with you...

Apart from painting, I also have a craft stall some weekends at festivals all over the Eastern Cape (South Africa) and a few weekends ago, I was going to have a stall at the Biltong Festival in Somerset East, about two and a half hours drive from where I live. 

The weather predictions for that specific weekend was as follows: Extreme Weather Warning!! Snow, very cold, very heavy rain, floods etc. I even received an email where they warned to be very careful on the roads, as they were expecting flooding that weekend.

I prayed about it and really felt the Lord say I should go! Oh well, my natural mind said I should STAY because the weather was going to be so bad, but Holy Spirit clearly said GO, so I decided to be obedient and GO, knowing that I would probably have an awesome testimony to share when I come back, and that was exactly what happened! What an adventure doing life with Him! He is so faithful! God is a GOOD God!

 

The Biltong Festival turned out to be a huge success for my stall, even though EXTREME weather conditions, but it did not keep the people away! It WAS freezing cold and it rained every evening, but it was an adventure! God really blessed me and He even made a way for me to stay in the School Hostel (there was a last minute cancellation which I was very greatful for, since I was planning to sleep in a tent, which might not have been such a good idea). It felt a bit scary for me to sleep in this cold school hostel by myself, so I asked Him for confirmation that He is with me and as I walked into the room, this beautiful poster (above) of JESUS's CROSS and the word GOD in the middle was above the bed!!! I felt the Lord say to me:  "This is My sign to you that I am with you!" I felt God's presence and peace with me in that room in such a tangeble way and had sweet dreams every night. Also, He really blessed my craft stall, the extreme weather did not keep the people away!! LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!! He really knows best and I thank Him for His guidance .... and also for electric blankets!

I am also a teacher in Children's  Ministry and I love children. I painted this painting was a gift for our precious assistant youth pastor, to thank her for all her hard work.

I prayed A LOT before I had the guts to paint this painting. I never want to paint something, without Him leading and guiding my brushstrokes. Here you see the little children of all nationalities, playfully dancing around Jesus. This is a very bright painting, lots of warm, bright, happy colours. The rainbow colours symbolise our diversity.  We are all so different, yet in Gods Kingdom we are one. God loves each and every one of us soooo much, no matter what our race or nationality or background. In Him, we are all a royal priesthood.  Princes and princesses.   He is standing with His big arms wide open. He wants us to all come to Him with childlike faith... like a little child and just receive everything He has for us ... love, joy, peace.  He is the best Father we can imagine! He is our Abba Father... our Daddy and we are His children. In Him we are complete.

John 8v12

Lighthouses.... my favourite topic to paint.  After I started this awesome journey with God, I went on my knees, asking Him to give me ideas on how to use my talents for His glory and at the same time, supplement my income.  I asked the Lord specifically for a business that will bring glory to Him and touch peoples lives for Him.  The idea of lighthouse paintings combined with scriptures kept on popping into my mind. 

One morning I went for a walk on the beach and once again I asked the Lord for ideas.  Again the "Lighthouse Scripture Paintings" idea popped into my mind.  I then asked the Lord: "If this is from you, please confirm it to me."  That same morning, as I got to work, someone sent me a message on my mobile phone and this is what it said: 

"You are the light of the world.

 A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 

Matthew 5:14" 

Oh wow! That was my answer. That was the confirmation I asked for.  I then knew this was a "God Idea". Thank you Lord for that confirmation!   Romans 9:1b ...the Holy Spirit confirm it.

Since that day I have painted and sold many lighthouse paintings and I have received numerous testimonies from people, telling me how God has touched and spoken to them through the paintings. I remember one man's testimony...  His wife and him was attending an event in a huge marquee tent on the beachfront and a very strong wind came up, causing one of the poles that was holding the tent up to collapse. As the tent came tumbling down on them, they felt, what he described as a "shield of protection" around them and they were not injured.  The very next morning, they were enjoying breakfast in our church's coffee shop, when his eyes fell on one of my lighthouse paintings against the wall. He was so touched when he read the scripture on the painting:

"The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my saviour;

my God is my rock, in whom I find protection.

 He is my shield, the power that saves me,

and my place of safety.

Psalm 18:2"

Needless to say, that same painting is now hanging in their living room!

You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy.

This painting is very dear to my heart and was my first prophetic painting.

The inspiration: This was in 2007...  I have just surrendered my whole heart, my whole life... my EVERYTHING to Jesus and I was (and still am) madly in love with Him.  He had placed such a hunger in my heart for Him.  I just wanted more of Him!  I yearned for a supernatural encounter with my King!

On a Saturday evening, I went to our church's ministry service with one of the ladies, Debbie, from the cell group I was attending at that time. The whole week before that particular service, I was on my knees, crying out to God to give me a revelation of His love for me. I was desperate for a touch from God!  I just needed to experience His love soooo badly, my heart was hurting! I needed a touch from the Most High.

Back to the ministry service...  after praise and worship, Debbie suddenly looked at me with big eyes...  "I saw you dancing with Jesus!" she exclaimed. Oh wow! My heart almost skipped a beat!  I was so excited. The Lord had shown her a vision of Him and me dancing! She explained to me in detail what the Lord had shown her. I was so touched!

Right after that, the pastor said that God laid it on his heart that there are people in the service tonight that need a real revelation of His love and "if you are that person, please come forward".  The pastor hardly finished his sentence and I was standing in front of him. As he prayed with me, I felt the love and peace of God OVERWHELM me (that is the best description I can think of).  It was an incredible experience.  My heart was so touched and I was just wiping away the tears.  In that ONE moment, God did not just answer my prayer, but he also wiped away all my insecurities and fears with His awesome love!

When I got home later that evening, I felt so inspired and filled with love for Him,  I started painting this painting of Jesus and me dancing together.  That was the day that my adventure and journey with Him really began... that was the day that I started dancing with Jesus!

Sometimes we "dance" a slow, passionate, intimate dance. Other times we just have fun and He twirls me around and around. Other times He swings me out there and I might not feel His closeness like the other times... but His hand is aways there. Always there holding me, pulling me closer, guiding me and showing me the way I must go. He is aways there, even when I don't feel His closeness. He is there.

He is there for each and every one of us. He longs to show you how much He loves you. All you need to do is just ask. God will always answer you if its something according to His will. And believe me, He LOVES you sooooo much, it is definitely His will to show you.  It doesn't matter how empty or how dry you might feel. Just ask Him to show you His love and He will. All you need to do is just be open to it and position yourself. Surround yourself with people that He can work through. He might not always speak to you through a billboard or with an audible voice, maybe He speaks to you through a beautiful sunset or even a little child giving you a flower. Let Him surprise you. Let Him dance with you. He will. 

 Seek Him with all your heart and you will find Him.
